Perfume the novel : Theme and how it relates to real world

Media commonly creates the norms of society. What is trendy or “in” is commonly searched for. Usually this need for acceptance in society is appointed to women. However, men also have this fear that they may be a rejected from society. They look for ways to be what the typical strong male figure is “supposed to be”. Anyways in the book “Perfume” , Grenouille wanted to find a smell that would get every human around him to like him.
